CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY (“CSR”) & ENVIRONMENTAL, SOCIAL GOVERNANCE (“ESG”)
CSR (a self-regulating business model) enables our corporate entity to hold itself to account by ensuring that its operations make a positive social impact. Our default choice is always to adopt a holistic approach. Our business culture possesses a strong sense of ethics and some of our CSR activities include:
Environmental sustainability:
We work hard to ensure that our business operations do not negatively affect the environment. All of our business activities are centred around waste management and waste reduction from business concept to procurement/sourcing right through to production, sale and after-sales activities. Green supply chains are something that we are firm believers of and this is proven as we work closely with suppliers aligned with our values.
Driving sustainability:
We look carefully at every element of our business operations to try and find the most environmentally sustainable solutions we can whilst remaining cost efficient. Some of the ways in which we do this include:
Working remotely to avoid unnecessary travel
Finding the nearest farms to work with in order to avoid excessive transportation
Using biodegradable packaging wherever possible, promoting and encouraging re-use of wool cool liners
Local community engagement:
We have worked closely with local communities to educate both adults and children on the significance of consuming a nutrient-dense, authentic halal and tayyib diet outside of the Blessed Month of Ramadhan, the importance of developing a connection to where our food comes from and how it is prepared to meet the halal requirements in order that it is permissible for us to consume it.
Donating to charities:
We currently donate a small portion of our non-perishable products to local food banks, however, do not publicise this as we do not seek social media attention or validation for our noble endeavours. We will in future invite our loyal discerning clients to join us in donating to particular organisations of choice once due diligence procedures have been exercised.
